Thousands of tourists started visiting Jammu & Kashmir to escape sweltering heat of the plains. Many states in India are witnessing heatwave conditions for the past few weeks, with maximum temperatures often surpassing 45°C in some cities. Hence, with pleasant weather in the Valley, it’s the perfect time to enjoy Kashmir.
A large group of tourists were witnessed taking pleasure inShikara rides on the Dal Lake in Srinagar and at the Mughal Gardens.
The influx of visitors has propelled the Union Territory’s tourism industry that went through tough times after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 and the following pandemic. Traders and people associated with tourism expressed their happiness at the response they received from the tourists.
Many tourists are visiting Kashmir now and people associated with tourism are enjoying profitable times once again.
Travel agents said that hotels in Kashmir are all booked for May, with advance bookings for June. Business is expected to grow further in the coming months with the heat wave in Northern India.
