Tourism of Turkey hopes on the UAE & Saudi vacationers

Recently, the diplomatic measures which Turkey has adopted as part of the normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia and the UAE are echoing on businesses as well.

From both of these countries, Turkish tourism representatives anticipate large number of tourists. The sector has observed that in Turkey’s luxurious hotels and their rooms in all the famous touristic cities are already booked.

Emphasizing that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the UAE and Saudi Arabia has made important contribution to tourism, sector officials explained that reservations from these countries have been returned almost to the pre-pandemic levels.

In the luxury segment in May, the occupancy rate of hotels is hoped to reach 90% with the stimulated demand. Between June and September, it will exceed 90% in the Black Sea provinces of Turley, which is preferred mainly by the Gulf tourists.

Sururi Çorabatır, head of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), mentioned that the recent diplomatic steps have had a major effect on tourism.

“There is a very strong demand from Saudi Arabia and the UAE for Istanbul and the Black Sea right now.”

He also explained that for tourism, the tourist groups will act like a breath of fresh air which is still trying to recuperate from COVID effects.
